Radio Shows to czech out.
1. Car Talk
I don't know anything about cars but this show is hosted by two brothers schooled in like low bro borscht belt comedy and it is stupendous. their love of childish puns and very new yorkish mannerisms makes all of their advice and banter manditory listening.
2. Smiley and West
Hosted by Tavis Smiley from pbs and Cornell West Professor at Princeton, this show sort of devolves into self parody at the drop of a hat and is all the better for it. There are moments of insight into interesting current events but mostly it is just kind of funny.

The Band Of The Future Today
The Coroner Can Wait from Wild Pack Of Canaries is the exactly the kind of soulful album Long Beach was waiting for. Rudy and the boys have knocked this one out of the park. don't sleep on this shit.

Perfect song.
It actually sounds more awesome now then it did then. Expect a slowed down version of this and the Flo Rida song soon.
Now that I'm Music Editor I guess I should stop listening to 'bad music'
Lucky for you this is the opposite of bad music. this song rules. Also, fuck that noise. Everything forever.

Pliny baby
Without question the perfect IPA. I was lucky enough to pick up a bottle from Farmers Harvest last night. My second time having Pliny, but my first out of a bottle, that shit is so herbal and balanced. If you have the chance, I cannot recommend a beer higher.

Toadies Yall
I think Possum Kingdom must be one of the easiest songs to cover, or the toadies already suck hard enough, because finding a good clip of this song was really hard. this band NYN does a pretty rad job in this video though. classic jam.
The New Gold Panda Album Is Incredible
Gold Panda by fourfest
Between Lucky Shiner and my deep anticipation for the new Teengirl Fantasy this month is gonna be heavy on the jams. You is the lead single from Lucky Shiner and hits such a perfect tone. Gold Panda is ballin right now (via wendy's reviewbro)

Theobroma | Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales
Had this Gem yesterday. Its modeled after the Mayan drink to the gods. a bit pricey, but at 9%ABV it definitely got the job done. plus it is incredibly complex and tasty. every sip is a completely new experience.

On Blast
I'm convinced this song would have been the 2nd or 3rd best track on HLLYH, which coming from me is high praise. check out this free mixtape.

Best Friendzzz
Orange County/Long Beach (They go to CSULB, I'm claiming them) locals Dash Jacket a) rock fucking hard. b) are the nicest dudes. and c) put on the best shows.
This live rendition of No Way Girls kicks ass.
Let The Right One In remains a masterpiece, even after all of the talk over the upcoming American remake and all the noise over the poor DVD translation. Sure the Instant Watch translations pale in comparison to the theatrical translation, (also available on a UK import disc) but the movie isn't really about the language, its about the relationship and the difficulty of early childhood. Watch it on Netflix, buy the amazon uk version or whatever you have to do to experience this beautiful movie.

Work hard play hard this past weekend. FYF on Saturday was amazing, more on that tomorrow probably. Panda Bear and The Oh Sees ruled. the amount of dust on the other hand was disgusting. still feeling that one.
The first ever show at the farm was today, After all the work with booking and scheduling and stuff it was nice for it to finally be over so we can dissect the night and make future shows better. No Hablo FUCKING KILLED IT.
Patch me up - Dipiazzas by No Hablo
Unfortunately the cops came before Lazy Mary could play, but overall, I'm calling it a success.

Five Reasons why 4 hours of Green Day would be hell, and 1 reason why it would rule.
Apparently Green Day Played a 4 hour long set tonight in Irvine. This does not bode well for our country. Here are 5 examples of why a big long green day set is my version of hell. Also 1 really compelling reason why it would blow doors off any other show.
1.
2.
3. This god awful book.
4. What ever the hell this crap is.
5.
And Finally The 1 reason why it would RULE HARD

Flag Pole Sitta
192. Harvey Danger
"Flagpole Sitta"
[Slash; 1998]
Right from the start, Seattle's Harvey Danger wanted to bite the hands that fed them-- not just the corporate machines that co-opted youthful dissent, but the fickle backbiting post-Nirvana "punk rock" subculture that treated credibility like a credit card. Think of "Flagpole Sitta" as a slightly more mature and jaded version of Green Day's "Longview". In Harvey Danger's world-- a world where their caustic candor shared Billboard real estate with such alternative rock landmarks like as the Barenaked Ladies' paean to Chinese chicken and the Goo Goo Dolls' big ballad crossover-- the couch is falling apart, the TV broke years ago, and the self-loathing has reached such levels of agonizing irony that when singer Sean Nelson hits one of his many fish-in-barrel bullseyes, you have to wonder if even he believes his own bullshit. --David Raposa
First track is the original, second track killzzzz happy new semester everybody

Film Geek Time Killer
Sunk hella time into flickchart.com tonight. It randomly pits two films against each other and forces you to pick a favorite, thus compiling a more accurate top movies list for you. Its not perfect (i have absolutely no fucking clue what the methodology is beyond the obvious) but it is really fun.The best part about flickchart is the alternate movie posters they show from time to time, super rad. highly recommended.
Everything In Between
No Age's new LP Everything In Between is an absolute masterpiece. Perfect inspiration for next semester, Grad School Apps and Beyond. Absolutely cannot wait to see these bros September 30th at the Bowl.
